Overview

The scope of this blog is to analyze and document how Maniac Mansion works, with two goals:

• Explain how the game works to a general audience (which has limited to none technical knowledge)
• Showcase the ingenuity and technical achievement to enthusiasts and connoisseurs

The first goal means I'll have to rely on some oversimplifications and analogies. The second goal will allow me the pleasure of getting into extremely detailed, niche and specific information, which will sound cryptic, arcane and even indigestible to some. You've been warned.
